A geomagnetic storm with a Kp-index of 5 is expected on 19 August
On 19 August, a weak geomagnetic storm is expected with a Kp-index of 5, corresponding to level (G1), and the most active period of the storm is forecasted from 03:00 (UTC+00) to 06:00 (UTC+00), when the Kp-index will reach its maximum value of the day, reflecting the highest intensity of geomagnetic disturbances during this period.
Slight fluctuations in power grids are possible, along with short-term high-frequency radio communication disruptions in polar regions and a light impact on satellite systems. At night, the aurora borealis may be visible in areas around 60° latitude.
There is currently no consensus among scientists regarding the impact of geomagnetic storms on health. However, many people with increased sensitivity may respond to changes in geomagnetic conditions. In such cases, it is recommended to maintain a calm routine, avoid stress, and pay attention to the body’s signals.
